I have a table called Employee with the following fields

Name :

Empid:            ----[>]not null

Managerid:      ----[>]can have null and should refer to empid.

dept:       

now i want to make managerid to refer to empid of the same field. is it possible to add constraint while creation?. i dont want to write any trigger for validation.

Plz help me out........

Frm what I understand ur problem use foriegn key (that will help you link managerid to employee id)
