I think the ascii value of backspace is 8 (or is it 9? I always get confused).

If you are using forms 6i client server, you can map it to a trigger using oracle terminal, which comes on the Forms 6i Release 2 CD.

Why do you need to trap backspace?

A comprehensive table of character and extended character values (including backspace) is located here: http://www.asciitable.com/

Characters are referenced by Decimal, Hexadecimal and Octal values, and to HTML code.

Good for future reference.
